First Biennium Renewal 

HIV / AIDS | 3 contact hours (First renewal only)

Prevention of Medical Errors for Respiratory Therapists | 2 contact hours

Florida Laws and Rules for Respiratory Therapists | 2 contact hours

*Respiratory Therapists renewing a license for the first time, who were licensed in the second half of the biennium, are exempt from the 24 hours of general continuing education however they are required to complete HIV/AIDS (3 hours), Prevention of Medical Errors (2 hours) and Florida Laws and Rules for Respiratory Therapists (2 hours) (Renewal Information)

Subsequent Renewals

General Hours | 20 contact hours

Prevention of Medical Errors for Respiratory Therapists | 2 contact hours

Florida Laws and Rules | Respiratory Care | 2 contact hours

Human Trafficking | 1 contact hour (MedCEC offers a two (2) hours course which satisfies this requirement)
