Illinois Board of Nursing CE Requirements

Total Hours Required: 20 | Elective Hours: 19 | Renewal Cycle: 2 Years

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Effective January 1, 2020 all RN's and LPN's are required to complete one (1) hour of CE of sexual harassment prevention training as part of their 20 hour biennial requirement.

     Illinois RN's and LPN's are required to complete 20 contact hours of continuing education (CE) every two years (biennial renewal). A one (1) contact hour of sexual harassment prevention training is required as part of the 20 hours required each two years. License expiration dates: RN licenses expire May 31st of each even-numbered year | LPN licenses expire January 31st of each odd-numbered year | APRN licenses expire on May 31st of each even-numbered year.
